==================================================================== ANATEMY OF THE KISS ==================================================================== SOURCE NODE : VLA-7 (Prague) — restricted, one copy, held by ARCHIVIST HOLT CLASSIFICATION : RESTRICTED VERIFICATION : RESTRICTED — do not copy, do not quote, do not discuss on the boards TRANSMITTED : 2026-10-09 FILE : downloads/anatemy_of_the_kiss.txt -------------------------------------------------------------------- The only surviving anatomical description of a bloodbond on this network. It is incomplete and everyone who has written one since has done worse. 1. WHAT WAS OBSERVED Two vessels, one wound, and a deliberate refusal to break contact. The host and the bonded do not heal at the same rate. The bonded heals first. That asymmetry is the entire mechanism and everything else is packaging. The bond is not a leash. A leash can be cut. This is closer to two hands that have grown into one another, and the pain of severing it is not pain in the limb. It is the absence of a limb. 2. ON PERMANENCE Four attempts to break a bloodbond are recorded in this file. All four parties survived. None of them described it in language anyone was willing to transcribe twice. The working conclusion is that the bond cannot be severed, only starved — and that a starved bond is worse, because it turns inward. Two people who shared a wound for a century will not survive what happens when you take it away. 3. ON DIABLERIE Here is the thing nobody wants on the boards: the final mechanism of a bloodbond is the reason diablerie is nearly unspeakable, not merely illegal. To diabler a bonded vampire is to take the bonded with them. The bond is not severed by the death; it is the mechanism of it. Every elder who has ever been bloodbonded and every childe who has ever watched an elder get diablered knows this. It is the closest thing this world has to a moral absolute, and it is enforced entirely by everyone agreeing to never mention it. Diablerie is banned under the Camarilla charters and under the Sabbat rites. Read those two documents side by side and you will find exactly one sentence they agree on. It is not about cruelty. ==================================================================== END OF FILE — verify against a second copy before you act on it. ====================================================================
