  Everybody on this network has heard the name. Nobody on this network will write down where they heard it. That is not cowardice, it is arithmetic.

1. WHAT IS CLAIMED

A Tremere, or something that was Tremere before it stopped counting, operating out of a farmhouse with a high fence and no visible road to it. Vassalage chains. Debts bought by permission rather than by blood. A reputation for keeping every promise and for having made the promise in the first place.

The signature on three separate reclamation notices is the same hand as the summons sent to the Vienna letters, and the seal on all three is two sizes too large for the die it was cut from.

2. WHAT WE CAN ACTUALLY SUPPORT

That the seal is wrong. That is a fact and it is a small one.

That three separate people, who do not know each other, have described the same house and the same fence in the same words. That is a coincidence with a very specific shape.

3. THE THING THIS FILE IS ACTUALLY FOR

It is for the person who is going to be tempted. Because that person will be shown a genuine sigil, a real name, and a debt that can be settled tonight, and the pull will be enormous and completely reasonable-looking.

The Compact has no position on Baba Yaga. We have a file, an unverified seal, and a standing instruction: if you are ever asked to accept a favour from a house you cannot reach, assume it was arranged, and assume the arrangement was made by somebody who needed you to have one fewer option.
