==================================================================== CLAN DOSSIER: FOLLOWERS OF SET — THE PARADIGM ==================================================================== SOURCE NODE : VLA-7 (Prague) — house study file CLASSIFICATION : INTERNAL — house study VERIFICATION : WORD SIGNED — Compact delegates TRANSMITTED : 2026-10-09 FILE : downloads/clan_followers_of_set.txt -------------------------------------------------------------------- The only clan we have never fought, never negotiated with, and never understood, and we have decided that is a reasonable policy. 1. SHAPE Disciplined, austere, and relentlessly patient. The Followers of Set lose nothing and concede nothing and have been known to wait out entire houses of a different temperament. Their Paradigm is not a doctrine so much as a method. Everything they do is a version of asking what happens if. That makes them extremely dangerous and extremely bad at surprises. 2. THE THIN LINE Their masters keep something on the far side that they do not permit to cross. The Thin Line is the border. They hold it because they can, and they have never once been asked to move it, and they have never once offered. Two of our delegates have met a Setite. Both returned with the same report and neither can explain why they agree on it. Both filed the report and both did not sleep, and they have not said why. 3. OUR POSITION No contact. No war. No trade. The Paradigm has offered all three and we have declined all three, and the offer has been renewed annually for eleven years, which tells you more about them than it does about us. What we will say in our own files: a house that waits is a house that has not finished. Nobody on this Compact knows what they are waiting for, and that is the single open item in this file that we have never been able to close. ==================================================================== END OF FILE — verify against a second copy before you act on it. ====================================================================
