PERSONAL HISTORY

Root doesn't have a true name. Root is the superuser account on the Consensus itself. Some say Root was the first sysadmin of the ARPANET. Others say Root emerged from a kernel panic that never resolved. Root simply is.

Root manages the file system of reality. Every mage's paradigm is a process. Every spell is a system call. Paradox is a kernel panic. The Technocracy runs a hardened kernel with mandatory access controls. The Virtual Adepts run experimental patches. Root merges the pull requests.

Root's philosophy: "Everything is a file. Even you. Especially you. cat /etc/passwd shows all mages. chmod 777 /reality is the Great Work. rm -rf /technocracy is the goal. But be careful. No backups exist."
